This is Chola, a chi mix who was hit by a car in CA Thursday (March 24th 2011) and left for dead. Kristen, a New Yorker visiting in LA, is her guardian angel. Kristen got her to the Wayfarer Veterinary Hospital in LA where she is receiving emergency care. Her pelvis was fractured in three places, and she had a fractured ilium and sacrum, needing immediate surgery. (The estimate for her care was between $3500-$5800.) The hospital usually requires up front money before treatment but were willing to do the surgery with the small amount we had raised.

Chola's fractures were very painful so the sooner they were repaired the sooner she would heal. Chola's surgery was done March 26th.

Angel's Gate needed to raise funds for her medical and surgical care and for her flight back to NY where she can receive physical therapy. We would like to give a huge thank you to everyone who made donations, sent well wishes, and prayed for Chola's safe recovery. Because of all of you we were able to raise the needed funds to pay for Chola's surgery and flight back to NY. Currently Chola is with in NY with Kristen awaiting her first vet visit. As soon as Chola is cleared for PT she will be brought to Angel's Gate!
