Guardian Angel  Sponsorship Program
 
If you would like to contribute to the care of specific animals at Angel's Gate, join our sponsorship program. On this page we have posted photos of some of our animals along with information about their special needs and individual challenges.

Send in your contribution along with the name of the animal(s) you wish to sponsor. As a Sponsor we will send you updates and photos via email of your animal. We suggest sponsorship amounts begin at $25 per month.
     
Princess SophiePrincess Sophie:
Princess Sophie came to us from New Orleans. She's a Katrina survivor. Se has a chronic skin condition which creates sores on her neck.

  PriscillaPricilla:
Pricilla is a victim of "Shaken Puppy Syndrome." Barely surviving terrible abuse she was taken to a vet and eventually to Angel's Gate. She is mostly unable to walk without assistance but has a commanding presence among her peers.
NedNed:
Ned a young Pygmy Goat was given to someone "as a joke" and was tethered in the yard until rescued and brought to Angel's Gate.
LizzieLizzie:
Lizzie is a Yorkie who came to Angel's Gate a quadriplegic. Her cervical spine was injured by a child. She received acupuncture, Chinese herbs, and hydrotherapy. She now scampers about.
 
BeauBeau:
Beau is a 9 year old sweet heart Rottie, He was born with mal-formed right foot and has had hip replacement surgery. He walks around better than before but may need additional surgery.

  CharlieCharlie:
Charlie partially paralyzed Shi-Tzu is Mr. Personality.
 
Gus GusGus Gus:
Gus Gus formally Mini-Doxie is our rock hunter and forever puppy.

  SquirrelsSquirrels:
We always have baby squirrels that have been found abandoned, mothers killed, or have fallen out of trees.

 
ZeusZeus:
Zeus is a diabetic and requires twice daily injections of insulin.
  DucksDucks:
Each year many elementary school classrooms hatch eggs to teach children about life. But once grown there is no place for the ducks to go.


What mixed messages kids get about the value of life with such experiences.

Giget is a Katrina survivor. She's our high hurtles diva.
  ChuckieChuckie:
Chuckie's nose may be split but his heart isn't, it belongs to Susan.
 
MimiMimi:
Mimi is an 8 year old Miniature Horse, the type that was used in the coal mines of Whales. She is permanently lame and has difficulty walking.

  SheilaSheila:
Sheila was turned in to be euthanized. A 4 year old Boston Terrier mix was born with deformed front legs. She walks on her hind legs when necessary. She prefers to be held.
 
SwanSwan:
This beautiful swan was hit by a car. She is unable to fly yet, but she has found a happy home at Angel's Gate along with a male swan who's wing had been lost to a fox attack.
  AbbyAbby:
Only recently adopted, this sweet little Chihuahua has had a lot of medical attention. The best we can hope for, we are told, is that she will survive and remain paralyzed permanently. We have already spent $1600 for her and soon there will be bills for neurological consults; re-splinting; pain meds and the purchase of a dog cart.
