The Angels Please help if you can

Currently, Angel's Gate is caring for nearly 200 companion animals and 100 farm animals and wildlife in our two locations.
A few of our Angel's are below.

DreamerDreamer:
Dreamer is a two year old Greyhound who fractured and dislocated her first cervical vertebrae during a race. A rescue group in Florida saved her and contacted us. Since her condition was fragile, Susan went to get her and flew back with her on Companion Air (see Resources Page).

Dreamer is doing very well and has fit in well with her chums at Angel's Gate. Not only is she ambulatory but vets are surprised that she runs about happily. She is a treasure.
  AbbyAbby:
Only recently adopted, this sweet little Chihuahua has had a lot of medical attention and the best we can hope for, we are told, is that she will survive and remain paralyzed permanently. We have already spent $1600 for her and soon there will be bills for neurological consults; re-splinting; pain meds and the purchase of a dog cart.

If you can help, please send donations for "Abby's Care" to Angel's Gate; 18 Josephine Lane; Fort Salonga; NY 11768.

DreamerHumphrey:
Humphrey was the first handicapped animal to come to Angel's Gate, That was in 1993. Two cervical discs were cracked in a home accident leaving him paralyzed in the hind legs. After surgery we were told that he would never walk again. Fortunately, no one told Humphrey. After six months he began to scratch with his hind legs and a few months later he walked up steps. Now he can walk and run for short distances.
KatieKatie:
Katie was a young feral kitten who came to us (1998). She has only three feet. Against the advice of two veterinarians, who said that Katie should have her leg amputated, we left her intact. She is doing just fine and she rules our great room. She is very feisty but can be loving and affectionate, too. Best of all she doesn't seem to know she has a handicap.
Christmas JoyChristmas Joy:
Rescued hours before she was to be killed at a shelter because she was miss-diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome and deemed "un-adoptable " she was admitted to Angel's Gate during the Christmas holidays. She is a highly intelligent, affectionate, obedient dog and a true joy to have in our animal family.

LizzieLizzie:
Lizzie came to us from the
ASPCA in late 1999 and was
paralyzed from the neck down.
She received extensive therapy.
Now she runs around with the
best of them, has a loving spirit
and zest for life. Still, she loves
cuddling the most.
ariel and EvanAriel and Evan:
Ariel was the first in a long line of cats with "cerebella hyperplasia" who now reside at Angel's Gate. She arrived in January 2001 from a shelter that was about to euthanize her because of her neurological disorder. She, as well as the others, has shown us her determination and sweetness as she struts her stuff.
DaisyDaisy:
She was raised on Cheerios and became very close with her guardians but they were no longer able to keep her. They had no safe place to send her until they found Angel's Gate. With tears of sadness but
relief they let us adopt her. They call regularly to ask how she is doing.
MysteryMystery:
Mystery's story is a true love story. She was rescued by two wonderful women in Chicago who were devoted to her. She was diagnosed with kidney failure and the prognosis was poor. To make matters worse she was suffering terrifying trips to the vet twice weekly for hydration. Angel's Gate was contacted and the woman decided to make the heat breaking decision to send her to us. Compelled by their devotion, Susan flew to Chicago to escort Mystery to Angel's Gate. Here this uncanny cat hydrates herself by drinking from the faucet. She is doing amazing well on the raw food diet and looks and acts very much like a healthy cat.
Little RedLittle Red:
These are two of the 24 cats with FIV (Feline Aids Positive) who share a lovely room at Angel's Gate. We are one of the few safe havens for cats with FIV and FELV (Feline Leukemia) on in the tri-state area.

Mimi and NedMimi and Ned:
Mimi is a miniature horse and came to us from Georgia. She is permanently lame. Her constant companion Ned, a pygmy goat was given to a man on Long Island "as a joke" but hails from Penn.
ChaseChase:
Chase with torn Achilles
tendons walks on all fours!
SheilaSheila:
Sheila born with mal-formed front legs walks only on hind legs.
